Secure the two ends of cutting point with steel wire, using a length of 2-4 times the diameter. Tie three times the hemp core rope and four times the steel core rope, evenly spaced, and braid the cut.
Mechanical Cutting: Maintain the tool vertically when applying force to avoid burrs. Thermal Cutting (for thick ropes only): After gas/arc cutting, spot weld the ends to prevent loose strands.
Tie with steel wire to prevent loosening. Important load-bearing ropes should undergo magnetic particle testing.
Flame cutting is prohibited on very thin steel wire ropes (because high temperature significantly reduces the tensile strength of steel wire rope). Cut the wire rope directly without bundling (this will inevitably cause the entire rope to loosen).
For multi-strand steel wire ropes (for example 35(W)×7), welding the ends after cutting work to prevent the outer strands from loosening is necessary.
